Clay Celander, DMD
Personal dentistry in Ponte Vedra Beach
Meet Dr. Clay Celander
A Tallahassee native, Dr. Celander graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a degree in premedical biology. Before dental school, he taught eighth-grade science and spent summers guiding whitewater rafting trips in Charlotte with his future wife, Nikki.
He earned his dental degree magna cum laude at Boston University, then returned to Florida for family and warmer weather. His approach is simple: listen, keep you comfortable, and recommend the care he would want for his own mom. Every patient receives his personal phone number.
Outside the office, Clay and Nikki are raising Rory and Isla. You’ll often find him surfing, kayak fishing, or whitewater kayaking. He also keeps honeybees—and during honey flows, patients may leave with a jar to take home.
No rush. No pressure. Just people who care.
Looking for a more personal alternative to a corporate dental office? Welcome to a place where you’re treated like family.
We take time to listen, explain your options, and help you make decisions at your own pace. You should feel comfortable asking questions—and confident in your care.
Every patient receives Dr. Celander’s personal phone number. That direct connection is part of our approach: a familiar face, a dentist you can reach, and a team that makes you feel at home.
Dental care for every stage of your smile
-
Gentle cleanings, oral cancer screenings, periodontal maintenance, and deep cleanings help protect your teeth and gums. We explain what we find and make a practical plan together.
-
Tooth-colored fillings, porcelain crowns, and bridges restore damaged or missing teeth. Digital scanning makes impressions more comfortable. We will talk through your options without pressure.
-
Porcelain veneers and composite bonding can improve chips, gaps, and tooth shape. We will help you understand the differences and choose an approach that fits your smile and goals.
-
Brighten your smile with Philips Zoom in-office whitening or custom take-home trays. We assess your teeth and sensitivity first, then help you choose an option that makes sense for you.
-
Removable, nearly invisible SureSmile aligners gradually straighten teeth. A consultation and digital scan help us determine whether aligners are suitable for your smile and bite.
-
Implant-supported crowns, bridges, and dentures—as well as complete and partial dentures—can restore comfort and confidence. We plan the restorative care and coordinate surgical placement with a specialist when needed.

The Nice Dentist
Dr. Celander believes dental care should feel personal, friendly, and straightforward. He puts your comfort first, shares his personal cell phone number with every patient, and approaches treatment with one simple question: “What would I do for Mom?”
A Tallahassee native, University of Florida graduate, and former science teacher, he brings a friendly, practical approach to helping you understand your dental care.
More about Dr. Celander
Dr. Celander playfully “betrayed the family” by becoming a Gator, graduating cum laude from the University of Florida with a degree in premedical biology. He then moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, with his future wife, Nikki, where he taught eighth-grade science and spent his summers guiding whitewater rafting trips.
Two years later, he moved to Boston to attend Boston University School of Dental Medicine, graduating magna cum laude. After four snowy winters, he returned to Florida for warmer weather and to be closer to family.
Outside the office, he’s a proud dad to Rory and Isla. He loves exploring the Southeast, especially when it involves kayak fishing, whitewater kayaking, or surfing. He also keeps honeybees—and when the honey is flowing, patients may get a jar to take home.

What out-of-network benefits mean—and why your plan may still help pay for your visit.
Yes—many PPO plans let you choose your dentist.
Fee-for-service does not automatically mean you cannot use dental insurance. Endless Summer Dental Care welcomes patients with any PPO dental plan. We are out-of-network, and most PPO plans include benefits for care outside their network. The details of your individual plan determine what it pays.
Could my plan cover the whole visit?
It may, for some covered services. The amount depends on the plan’s allowed fees, coverage rules, and available benefits. A benefit described as “100% covered” may mean 100% of the insurer’s allowance, which can differ from the office’s fee. Deductibles, annual maximums, and frequency limits can also affect the payment.
A quick conversation can make things clearer.
Before your visit, call us with your insurance information and tell us what care you need. Useful questions include whether the plan covers out-of-network care, what amount it allows for the proposed service, and whether you have benefits remaining. We can discuss what to check and any expected patient portion.
We’re happy to help with claims.
Our team can submit your claim as a courtesy. An estimate helps you plan, although the insurer determines the final benefit when it processes the claim. Call (904) 273-9353 to talk through your questions. You are also welcome here without insurance.

Do I need a crown, or would a filling work?
Why the amount of healthy tooth remaining matters when choosing a restoration.
Start with the tooth—not just the treatment name.
A filling and a crown serve different purposes. A filling replaces a damaged or decayed area of a tooth. A crown covers a prepared tooth and can provide support when a tooth is weakened, broken, or has a large existing restoration. Neither is automatically the right choice for every tooth.
What goes into the recommendation?
The decision depends on the extent of damage, the amount of sound tooth remaining, and how the tooth functions in your bite. Dr. Celander evaluates the tooth and discusses the findings with you. If imaging is needed, it can add information to the examination.
Three questions worth asking.
Ask what makes the recommended option suitable for this tooth, whether another approach is reasonable, and what the tradeoffs are. You can also ask about the number of visits, the expected fee, and how to care for the restoration afterward. Understanding the reason behind a recommendation matters.
Make the decision with a clear explanation.
At Endless Summer Dental Care, we take time to talk through your choices without pressure. A website cannot tell you which restoration your tooth needs, but a visit can give you the information to make a practical decision. If cost or timing is a concern, mention it early so we can include it in the discussion.

Haven’t been to the dentist in years? Start here.
What to bring, what to ask, and how to make your return feel more manageable.
You can start where you are.
Life gets busy. Sometimes cost, anxiety, a move, or an uncomfortable past experience keeps dental care on hold. You do not need to have everything figured out before calling. Tell our team it has been a while, and we’ll help you plan the visit you need.
Tell us what would help you feel comfortable.
Let us know about sensitivity, dental worries, or a specific concern. Bring a list of your medicines, relevant medical information, and insurance details if you have them. If you have recent dental records, ask whether they would be helpful for your appointment.
The first goal is to understand your needs.
An examination helps assess your teeth and gums. Your recommended care may include a routine cleaning or a different approach if gum disease is present. A cleaning is not one-size-fits-all, so we’ll explain what is recommended and why rather than assume the same visit works for everyone.
Leave with a practical next step.
Ask which concerns need attention first, what the proposed care involves, and what it will cost. Our approach is unhurried and personal: you should have space to ask questions and understand your choices. Every patient receives Dr. Celander’s personal phone number. Call (904) 273-9353 when you’re ready to talk about getting started.

Care that starts with a closer look
An examination helps us assess your teeth, gums, and oral tissues. We offer professional cleanings and oral cancer screening, and we’ll explain any findings and recommended next steps in plain language.
The right cleaning for your gums
Healthy gums and gums affected by periodontal disease may need different care. Depending on your examination, we may recommend a routine cleaning, scaling and root planing, or periodontal maintenance. We’ll explain why before treatment begins.
A plan you can keep up with
Tell us about sensitivity, previous dental experiences, or anything that makes visits difficult. We can discuss home-care habits and a follow-up schedule based on your oral health.
Your questions, answered.
Do bleeding gums need attention?
Yes. Bleeding can be a sign of gum inflammation. An examination helps identify the cause and the appropriate care.
How often should I have a cleaning?
Your recommended interval depends on your gum health and dental history. Some people need more frequent periodontal maintenance.
It has been years. Can I still come in?
Absolutely. Call us and tell us where you’re starting. We’ll help you plan a first visit without pressure.

Fillings, crowns & bridges in Ponte Vedra Beach
Practical ways to restore your smile.
A damaged tooth can raise a lot of questions. Dr. Celander takes time to explain what he sees, the options available, and what each approach involves so you can make an informed decision.
Call to plan your visit
Tooth-colored fillings
A filling restores a tooth after decay is removed or repairs certain small defects. The amount of healthy tooth remaining, the location of the damage, and your bite help determine whether a filling is appropriate.
Crowns for teeth that need more support
A crown covers a prepared tooth and can help restore its shape and function. It may be considered when a tooth is weakened, broken, or has a large restoration. We’ll discuss the preparation, expected appointments, and maintenance.
Bridges to replace missing teeth
A bridge fills a gap with replacement teeth supported by neighboring teeth or implants. We’ll assess the supporting teeth and help you compare a bridge with other suitable options, including implant restorations or a removable partial denture.
Your questions, answered.
Do I need a crown or a filling?
That depends on the extent of damage and remaining tooth structure. An examination, and imaging when needed, helps guide the recommendation.
Will the restoration match my smile?
We consider the shade, shape, and position of surrounding teeth when planning tooth-colored restorations.
How much will treatment cost?
Fees depend on the treatment required. Ask us to review the proposed care and costs before deciding.

Veneers & dental bonding in Ponte Vedra Beach

A small change can matter as much as a bigger one. Tell Dr. Celander what you would like to improve, and we’ll talk through realistic options for your teeth, your bite, and your budget.

Explore veneers and bonding
Porcelain veneers are thin, custom restorations placed on the front surfaces of teeth. Composite bonding uses tooth-colored resin shaped directly on a tooth. Either may be considered for selected concerns with shape, chips, color, or spaces.
Choosing an approach
Your tooth health and bite come first. We’ll discuss the amount of preparation, maintenance, and repair considerations for each option. Porcelain veneer treatment generally involves enamel removal and is not reversible; bonding can sometimes offer a more conservative approach.
Start with your goals
Bring your questions and describe the changes you have in mind. We’ll assess whether cosmetic treatment is suitable and explain alternatives, which may include whitening, alignment, or leaving healthy teeth as they are.
Your questions, answered.
Are veneers right for everyone?
No. Tooth decay, gum health, grinding, and bite relationships affect suitability. These need to be evaluated before cosmetic treatment.
Can veneers or bonding need repairs?
Yes. Both can chip or wear and may eventually require repair or replacement. We’ll explain how to care for your restorations.
Can I treat just one tooth?
Sometimes. We can discuss a focused repair as well as how it will blend with neighboring teeth.

Teeth whitening in Ponte Vedra Beach
Explore a brighter smile at your pace.
If your teeth look darker than you would like, we can help you understand your whitening options. Endless Summer Dental Care offers Philips Zoom in-office whitening and take-home whitening trays.
Call to plan your visit
In-office or at home
In-office whitening takes place at the practice. Take-home trays let you follow a prescribed whitening routine at home. We’ll discuss your preferences, oral health, and expectations before recommending an approach.
Know what whitening can change
Whitening works on natural teeth. Fillings, crowns, and veneers do not whiten in the same way, so existing restorations need to be considered when planning the shade you want.
Comfort and realistic expectations
Results vary with the cause of discoloration and the treatment selected. Temporary tooth sensitivity or gum irritation can occur. Let us know about existing sensitivity so we can discuss suitability and instructions.
Your questions, answered.
Will whitening change my crowns or veneers?
No. Existing restorations generally keep their color. We’ll talk about any shade differences before you start.
How white will my teeth get?
There is no single result for everyone. We’ll discuss your starting shade and what may be realistic.
Should I whiten before other cosmetic work?
Mention your goals before treatment. The order of whitening and restorative work can matter when choosing shades.

SureSmile clear aligners in Ponte Vedra Beach
A clearer path to a straighter smile.
Interested in changing the alignment of your teeth? A consultation with Dr. Celander is a chance to explore whether SureSmile clear aligners fit your needs and daily routine.
Call to plan your visit
How clear aligners work
Clear aligners are a series of removable trays that gradually move teeth according to a treatment plan. Suitability depends on your teeth, gums, and bite. Some alignment concerns need a different approach or an orthodontic referral.
Planning and follow-up
We begin with an evaluation and discuss the records needed to plan treatment. If you proceed, we’ll explain the wear schedule, follow-up visits, and how to look after your trays and teeth.
A commitment beyond the trays
Consistent wear and professional monitoring matter. After active treatment, retainers are generally needed to help maintain tooth position. We’ll discuss those expectations before you decide.
Your questions, answered.
Can I remove the aligners?
Yes. They are removable, but following your prescribed wear schedule is essential. We’ll explain when to remove them and how to clean them.
How long does treatment take?
The timeline depends on the movements needed and your response to treatment. An individual estimate comes after evaluation.

Choose with the whole picture in mind
Your remaining teeth, oral health, existing implants, and preferences all matter. We can explain the differences between removable and implant-supported options and the ongoing care each requires.
Your questions, answered.

Can you evaluate an existing implant crown or denture?
Call and tell us what is happening. Bring available implant or treatment records so we can assess the restoration and discuss next steps.
